Old El Blasto is CU InSpace's first test flight vehicle, flying at the 2025 Launch Canada Challenge. CR25 is the first vehicle to broadcast live telemetry for the full duration of flight, and the second vehicle from InSpace to demonstrate a reefed parachute system successfully.

The airframe applied lessons learned from its predecessor, Red Bullistic, which was launched at the Spaceport America Cup in 2024. CR25 Old El Blasto is the first rocket with Student Researched and Designed body tubes, a significant step towards a fully SRAD vehicle. Consequently, Old El Blasto is also the lightest vehicle that the team has built in the 30,000ft COTS Solid category.
The vehicle features single ejection single deploy recovery system utilizing a student designed reefed parachute and custom reefing controls hardware and software, a custom fiberglass nosecone, SRAD fincan and roll wrapped carbon fiber tubes. It launched using a 6 grain XL Cesaroni 03400 "IMAX" motor boosting it to an apogee of 27,400 ft. above ground level.
