McNominal is CU InSpace's entry in the 2022 Spaceport America Cup 10,000 ft COTS Solid competition. This was the team’s fifth time competing in this category.

Standing at 3.57 m (11.7 ft) tall, the rocket is designed to reach an expected apogee of 11800 ft. above ground level utilizing a Cesaroni Pro98 6-Grain engine casing, housing an N-2500 solid motor.

​

The airframe is composed of commercially available filament wound fibreglass body tubes mated using aluminum couplers, a student built fiberglass and aluminum nose cone, carbon fibre sandwich panel fins, and an aft frame made up of four pairs of vertical stringers.
