Red Bullistic is CU InSpace's entry in the 2024 Spaceport America Cup 30,000 ft COTS Solid competition. Red Bullistic is the fastest and hardest accelerating vehicle ever produced by Carleton University clocking an impressive Mach 1.89, and pulling 23.5 G's on launch.

The airframe is a blank slate design applying lessons learned and innovations since the 2023 SAC competition. The vehicle features dual ejection dual deploy recovery system, custom fiberglass nosecone, carbon fibre fin can and filament wound carbon fibre body tubes (that aren't ovals). It launched using a 6 grain XL Cesaroni N5800 motor boosting it to an apogee of 27,850 ft. above ground level.
Red Bullistic is the lightest and highest performing airframe that InSpace has produced thus far. Improved manufacturing processes, utilizing topology optimization where possible to save material, reduction in vehicle diameter and improved integration were amongst the goals of CR24. The vehicle also employed an innovative telemetry stack for real-time communication to our ground station. Additionally, during the SAC 2024 launch, InSpace was amongst 2 of 6 teams utilizing the fabled CTI N5800 "rocket killer" motor that performed a nominal launch, landing and recovery with only cosmetic damages.
